SFI Medical Recognition and Awards

All awards and qualification badges or decorations are intended to be subtle ways to build a spirit of community and service among the 200+ members of the STARFLEET Medical Corps and the Health Science and Medical members in the STARFLEET Regions.

All STARFLEET Medical Corps Ribbons and devices are recorded in the SFI Member Eligibility Record.

STARFLEET Medical Corps and Fleet members may purchase the prescribed ribbon or device. If purchased, STARFLEET Medical Corps and Fleet members are encouraged to wear the Ribbon along with any Device at formal STARFLEET functions or at other “civilian functions” of honor or special occasion.

The following describes the four categories of Awards and Recognition:

I. Individual and Group Achievement Awards
These awards recognize outstanding personal or group achievement in keeping with the ideals and goals of the STARFLEET Medical Corps.

II. Service Awards
These awards recognize both service and training in keeping with the ideals and goals of the STARFLEET Medical Corps.

III. Training Awards
These awards recognize medical training in keeping with the ideals and goals of the STARFLEET Medical Corps.

Once you have completed the specific requirements for the Ribbons below, please submit your request on the Award Nomination Form located on the STARFLEET Medical Corps Website. http://medical.sfi.org/awards-nomination/

IV. Associations
Permission is granted to any STARFLEET Medical Corps member to wear the following decorations that are permitted by the US Public Health Service: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Awards_and_decorations_of_the_Public_Health_Service

  • Commissioned Officers Association (COA)
  • Association of Military Surgeons of the United States (AMSUS)
  • Reserve Officers Association (ROA)
