STARFLEET Medical organizes itself as the STARFLEET Medical Corps and is led by a Surgeon General (who is, also, the Director, STARFLEET Medical).
The Surgeon General has a Command Staff, Assistant Surgeons General along with general Medical Corps members located in the various STARFLEET International (SFI) Regions around the world.
Collectively, the members of the STARFLEET Medical Corps work collaboratively with the SFI Regional leadership and like-minded STARFLEET International members to promote health in the community, raise awareness in public health matters, along with promoting safety in the home. In addition many of our community are also actively involved in related community service activities. Many within the organization assist various SFI Regions to develop their volunteer efforts in this area.
Vision of STARFLEET Medical Corps
To provide assistance to Regional and Chapter Health Officers along with other Regional Officers by giving public health, medical, fire prevention, rescue, and home safety information and to provide resources to the members of STARFLEET International.
and taking steps to promote public health, fire prevention, and home safety in keeping with the vision of the late-Gene Roddenberry by being dedicated to helping humankind attain noble goals and ideals and operationalize the “let me help” principle set forth in the TV series.
Mission of STARFLEET Medical Corps:
To achieve the STARFLEET Medical Corps “Vision,” we seek to develop opportunities wherein STARFLEET members in good standing can-
- Improve their knowledge of health science, health promotion and home safety topics;
- Find the connections of real-world health science, health promotion, and home safety topics to similar issues found within the “Star Trek” universe;
- Develop leadership and collaboration skills in order to promote good citizenship;
- Undertake modest community service activities in collaboration with like-minded members in the various SFI Regions in the general topical areas identified above in keeping with the vision of the late Gene Roddenberry by being dedicated to helping humankind attain noble goals and ideals and operationalize the “Let Me Help” principle set forth in the TV series.
For STARFLEET Members who elect to join us, we are members who are interested in public health and community health education and community service on behalf of all members of the club and the communities where we live.
The STARFLEET Medical Corps is led by the STARFLEET Surgeon General. In addition to the Surgeon General, there are other members of the Medical Corps with various duties—from community health planning and coordination, community health education information collection and dissemination, and active community service volunteering on related issues. The members of the Medical Corps work in collaboration with other like-minded STARFLEET members in the various SFI regions, assisting them in related activities.
The STARFLEET Medical Corps is a group of public health volunteers who undertake activities in keeping with the vision of the late-Gene Roddenberry by being dedicated to helping humankind attain noble goals and ideals and operationalize the “let me help” principle set forth in the TV series.
The STARFLEET Medical Corps is not a policy-making body of the STARFLEET International fan club.
